It is important for you to know what makes us "the better builder": Foundations: Our foundations consist of a continuous footer that is at least 24 inches wide and averages 9 inches deep. (This includes the home, pier column, front porch, and garage.) It is reinforced with at least three,1/2 inch rebar throughout the footer. After our block is laid, we have the block below grade sprayed or painted with a rubber/asphalt coating to protect against water seepage into the crawl space. Surrounding the outside perimeter of the foundation, we also install a 4-inch "socked" footer drain with gravel. Then, before we start the green plate, we have the footer termite sprayed to provide an additional warranty against termites. Electrical: Our homes include the use of 12/2 wire; battery backup smoke detectors in all bedrooms and hallways, ARC-fault breakers for the bedroom circuits, and cable and phone hook ups in all bedrooms, dens, and living rooms. Additional phone and cable jacks can be installed at your request. Also, all main rooms are wired and braced for ceiling fans. Flooring: Our sub floor is Advantech or similar flooring that carries a 50-year limited warranty from the manufacturer against swelling or delaminating. This type of flooring is superior to OSB or Plywood in water repellent and warranty life. This flooring is not only glued and nailed, we also install decking screws to reduce future floor squeaks that could occur. Siding: Our standard siding is a premium Mastic Double Dutch Lap siding by Alcoa that carries an additional limited warranty from the manufacturer. Roofing: We place Owens Corning Pro-30 year architectural shingles on all our roofs. Insulation: We install R13 in all outside walls, R19 under the floor,
and R30 in the roof. Also, we install R13 around all bathrooms and the
master bedroom for soundproofing. |
